Our Apprenticeship programme

Our apprenticeship programme is a fantastic opportunity to study and gain valuable, practical knowledge & skills, while being paid a starting salary of £18,000.

We’re looking for bright individuals who want to push themselves to help us deliver our products for Lifescan.

To give you a flavour of what it’s like to be on our Apprenticeship Programme, hear from one of our Engineering apprentices:

“I’m currently in the final year of my Engineering Apprenticeship. It has been a fantastic experience through the programme so far. It’s providing me with the knowledge and skills to start my career in engineering. On the apprenticeship programme, I can study the theory as well as gain experience with the equipment and machines we have on site. This is a great way to develop as I can apply the theory and knowledge learned in the classroom to practical situations in Lifescan. The whole engineering team are always keen to help the apprentices and share knowledge. I would highly recommend the Lifescan apprenticeship to anyone that would like a great start to an engineering career.”

The apprenticeship we’re offering

What you’ll get from the apprenticeship

As well as on the job training and personal development, this 4-year apprentice-training programme will result in the attainment of the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of an HNC in Engineering Systems, and an SVQ level 3 in Multi Skilled Engineering.

The opportunity to get further academic qualifications up to Degree Level is available to individuals on completion of the modern apprenticeship.

Where do I study?

You’ll study for your qualifications at UHI Inverness, which is based at Inverness Campus.
