This Scottish Apprenticeship Week (4-8 March) DYW Inverness & Central Highland is calling on Highland businesses that are currently recruiting or considering in the future to recruit apprentices, whether its Foundation, Modern or Graduate, to share their vacancy adverts on Apprenticeship.scot.

Apprenticeship.scot is a one-stop-shop that supports employers to recruit young people, understand the wide range of apprenticeships available, while giving them the tools and guidance to access funding available.

For young people and their families, it’s again a go-to portal for finding apprenticeship opportunities in their area, without having to trawl through hundreds of employer’s websites.

The benefits of uploading your apprenticeship vacancies to Apprenticeship.scot include:

- The site is also high on Google search so is a platform that has hundreds of job seekers and their parents/care givers refer to it when looking for apprenticeship opportunities.

- Skills Development Scotland and other careers advisers drive candidates to the platform for careers guidance and opportunities.

- You will attract a higher number of quality candidates due to the popularity of the platform.

Liz Fletcher, Programme Manager at Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highlands said: “This is a fantastic resource and at the moment Highland employers are hugely under-represented. The platform gives employers, learning providers and future apprentices all the information they need. From case studies sharing insights about what its like to do an apprenticeship, to publications and resources for employers, including how to attract candidates to apply and where to apply for funding to cover learning costs.

“From Business Contract Administrators and Heavy Vehicle Technicians to Childcare Assistants and Cyber Security, there are currently hundreds of vacancies from hundreds of businesses from across Scotland using the site.

“There’s just a quick registration process, then its just a short form to complete with a company logo. It’s as easy as that! So don’t delay, and join the employers already successfully attracting local and eager candidates for your apprenticeship roles today!"
