Calling Businesses: Support P7s in Their Transition to Secondary School

P7 Transition March 25

Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highland (DYWICH) is seeking businesses and organisations interested in supporting an exciting region-wide project for primary schools within the catchment areas of its 14 secondary schools. This initiative builds on last year’s successful collaboration with Stagecoach, where pupils were challenged to name the company’s new fleet of electric buses while also learning about career opportunities in the transport sector.

This year, we’re looking for a new partner to help us create a fun and engaging challenge for P7 pupils. This could be a project that highlights a skills or diversity gap within an industry, showcases career and training opportunities, or raises awareness of an important issue - all while providing pupils with a creative task. Whether it’s designing a new logo, poster, or slogan, solving a business problem, developing a unique recipe, or something entirely different, we want to hear from you!

Sandra McCaughey, DYW Employer Engagement Manager, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to inspire young minds while addressing key industry challenges. By engaging with schools and young people at in this way and this key stage in their education, businesses can play a direct role in shaping the future workforce.”

If your business has an idea for an engaging project, we’d love to discuss how we can bring it to life. The final project will be voted on by our DYW Young Ambassadors based in secondary schools.
