DYWICH vs Inverness High School: A Match to Remember!

On the last day of last term, Inverness High School hosted a brilliant event organised by our DYW School Coordinator Emma Donald - and what a way to wrap up the year!

Team Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highland, made up of our local employer network, came head-to-head with Inverness High School in a friendly football match that raised an incredible £1,517.60 to fund a defibrillator for the school grounds.

Both teams played their hearts out, with DYW taking the win - but Inverness High are already planning their comeback in 2026!

The day was more than just football. Spectators enjoyed fantastic activities thanks to Highland Rugby Football Club and Inverness High Youth Development.

The event was a celebration of the partnerships built over the past year and showed what’s possible when schools, young people, and businesses come together.

Emma says, “This day was about more than sport - it was about showcasing the power of community, raising vital funds, and giving our young people a platform to shine. A huge thanks to Jamie Macdonald, Guidance Teacher, and Bailey MacCuish, S5 pupil, for their help bringing the whole day together. We couldn’t have done it without the support from our incredible local partners.”

Interested in getting involved next year? We’re already planning how to grow this event and our wider partnerships. If you’re a local business or organisation and want to be part of the DYW ecosystem at Inverness High School, get in touch with Emma Donald!

Thank you to everyone who made this day so special:
