GREEN CAREERS EXPO 2024

GREEN ENERGY. GREEN PATHWAYS. GREEN CAREERS

Date: 27th February 2024

Place: Alness Academy

Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highlands, in partnership with Skills Development Scotland, is hosting the Green Careers Expo 2024 for young people in the Highlands.

The first-of-its-kind event will bring together a wide range of employers, training providers, educational institutions and partners, to inspire the next generation.

The demand for green jobs and skills is expected to increase rapidly as Scotland transitions to Net-Zero. This means that more employers are looking to deliver their own green strategies, shape a sustainably skilled workforce and provide training opportunities to build a pipeline of talent for the future.

The Expo, sponsored by SSE Renewables, RI Cruden, Buchan Offshore Wind, Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Port and Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks, will be attended by several hundred pupils from across Highland schools. It will also give the young people the opportunity to be curious, explore and ask the experts about the variety of training and careers available, both now and in the future, as well as developments taking place in the industry.

On the day there will be a dedicated exhibitor zone, a tomorrow’s world zone, with hands on interactive activities for pupils, and presentations from sponsor organisations.

The event will also be open to the public from 1.15pm to 2pm.

We would like to extend a big thank you to our partner, Skills Development Scotland and all our sponsors for their support in enabling this event to take place.
